Darwin Radiosonde L3 Data (ESC Format) [NCAR/EOL]

Summary

This is one of the upper air data sets developed for the Dynamics of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (DYNAMO) 2011-2012 project. This data set includes 737 high vertical resolution (2-sec) soundings from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) C3 Darwin, Australia site, collected during the DYNAMO field campaign.  The data were provided by ARM.  There are typically four soundings per day at 00, 06, 12, and 18 UTC.  The 06 and 18 UTC soundings typically contain only wind data.  This L3 version of the data set has had a daytime radiation dry bias correction applied by CSU.  This station used Vaisala RS92-15 radiosondes with radar-tracked winds during the DYNAMO field campaign.
