CLLS project description
Chemical Layering in the Lower Stratosphere
Summary
Fine scale layering in the lower stratosphere has been observed in the temperature, condensation nuclei and water vapor structure. The Chemical Layering in the Lower Stratosphere program used the Sabreliner to make measurements of the above parameters and ozone as an indicator of stratospheric air. The ultimate goal of this study was to provide more information on mixing and diffusion processes which control exchange near the tropopause.
