ROSE-Air project description
ROSE-Air
Summary
The purpose of this program was to determine the role of hydrocarbons and NOx in the formation of ozone in the southern environment. The role of natural hydrocarbons vs anthropogenic hydrocarbons was investigated. A ground site located 7 miles north of Pennington Alabama, provided an intense suite of chemical and meteorological measurements to investigate these interactions on a more local scale while the aircraft, equipped with NO, NO2, NOy, O3, and hydrocarbon sampling equipment provided a regional view. The aircraft were based out of Meridian, Mississippi.
