TEXMEX project description
Tropical Cyclone Initiation Experiment
Summary
The Tropical Cyclone Initiation experiment (TEXMEX) was conducted during the summer of 1991 of the west coast of Mexico. The main goal of TEXMEX was to test the hypothesis that the elevation of theta-e in the middle troposphere just above the near-surface vorticity maximum is a neceaasry and perhaps sufficient condition for tropical cyclogenesis.
