DC3 Mobile NOXP Radar Data

This data set contains X-band dual polarized Doppler radar data from the mobile radar known as NOAA X-POL (NOXP) which is operated by the NOAA National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL). The data were collected as a part of the Deep Convective Clouds and Chemistry Project (DC3) field campaign from 13 April 2012 to 28 June 2012. The data are in DORADE format and are available as daily gzipped tar files.

The tar files contain directories of the form DC3/instrument/year/case/volume/sweep_files. The tar file name indicates specifics.

You can view and manipulate sweep files with solo3. To download solo3, visit: https://www.eol.ucar.edu/software/solo3.

Files in this dataset have been tested with solo3 on Ubuntu 14.04 (uname -a => Linux mistral0 3.13.0-36-generic #63-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 3 21:30:07 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux).
