Description:

The data are ECMWF analysis data. The data cover the SHEBA year (September 1, 
1997 - September 30, 1998), 4x day. There are 13 files (yymm.hdf), each 
containing the latitude and longitude data, and the atmospheric variables. The 
files contain in this order: latitude, longitude, temperature (K), specific 
humidity (kg/kg), u-component of the wind (m/s), v-component of the wind (m/s), 
geopotential height (m), surface geopotential height (m), and surface pressure 
(Pa). The data format is hdf, and the dimensions of the data are 180x31x31 
(except for the surface variables of course, which are 180x31). The latitudes 
and longitudes of the data are as follows:
