This dataset contains gridded meteorological data collected for the 1992 STORM-FEST project. This data is from the National Meteorological Center (now NCEP). There are four file types.

CED1.EFIL#### files are cylindrical equidistant projection (ced) used in grib files. See http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/codes/nwprod/gempak/nawips1/gempak/help/hlp/nagrib.hlp.

CED1.Fhh.ThhZ.AVN files are grib format with CED projection for the NMC aviation forecast model (AVN) for forecast hour F run at time T. The AVN format is now deprecated, having been replaced by the global forecast system (GFS) format.

TOSSLIST.ThhZ.[RDS/RGL] are columnar ASCII files with no header. Columns 3-5 seem to be station id, longitude and latitude. RGL is "regional run". These are possibly a listings of stations (or locations) that were rejected from model runs during the QA/QC process.

WD20.PCGRIDS.ThhZ.ETAC files appear to be some form of NMC Eta model data in pc-grids format. The following link references ETAX files with a very similar file naming convention: THE NMC ETA MODEL POST PROCESSOR: A DOCUMENTATION
