Title: EPIC Surface Based Galapagos Meteorology Observations (NOAA/AL) Contact: David A. Carter NOAA Aeronomy Lab Mail Stop R/AL3 325 Broadway Boulder, CO 80305 phone: (303) 497-5476 FAX: (303) 497-5373 e-mail: dcarter@al.noaa.gov Below is the format for the Aeronomy Lab wind profiler surface met data files. The data are stored in daily ASCII text files. File names are CRyydddA.TXT, where yy is the last 2 digits of the year and ddd is the day-of-year number (e.g. Sept 1 = day 244). There is one line of text for each 30 sec measurement interval. Each line terminates with a . Fields in each line are separated by commas. The fields are not necessarily of constant width. The fields in each line are as follows: 1) An instrument identifier (always = 111); 2) The 4-digit year; 3) the day-of-year number. 4) the hour and minute as a single integer in the form hhmm (UT) 5) the seconds (UT). 6) wind speed (30-sec mean of wind magnitude) 7) wind speed in m/s. (magnitude of 30-sec mean wind vector) 8) wind (from) direction (degrees east of north) (direction of mean wind vector) 9) std. dev. of wind direction #8 10) wind speed (30-sec mean of wind magnitude) 11) unit vector mean wind direction 12) std. dev. of wind direction #11 13) temperature (degrees C). 14) relative humidity (%). 15) barometer (in mB above 800). 16) solar radiation (kW/m^2). 17) rain (mm). 18) (CR-10 battery voltage, volts) 19) (CR-10 internal temperature) Sample data line: 111,2001,242,0,.125,4.1007,4.051,170.59,8.9109,4.1007,170.32,9.0136,20.132,94.424,141.4,.00352,0,13.27,26.28 ---end of file----
