The data are in netCDF format. More information on this dataset can be found at the MADIS website This dataset is provided "as-is". It has not been quality controlled by the National Center for Atmospheric Research/Earth Observing Lab (NCAR/EOL). Due to hardware failure 18 files from this dataset were lost. All files were from the first half of the year 2017, specifically the files corresponding to the following days were lost: 1/11, 1/21, 1/31, 2/18, 2/19, 2/20, 2/21, 2/28, 3/3, 3/9, 3/26, 3/29, 4/03, 4/20, 4/22, 4/30, 5/11, 5/31.
