Global GTS Ship and Buoy Observations in GEMPAK format https://data.eol.ucar.edu/dataset/100.009 Summary The GTS Ship and Buoy Observations Data set is one of several data sets collected by the University Corporation of Atmospheric Research/Joint Office for Science Support. These data are contained in daily files which are in GEMPAK format. The data were acquired via the UNIDATA Local Data Manager (LDM). Note that prior to 9 June 2011 this data set included only observations from 00 to approximately 08 UTC each day. Also, there are no data available from 8 March 2014 to 9 March 2015. Due to an unexpected hardware failure event 458 files from this dataset were lost. The files that were lost all correspond to dates between January 2017 and June 2017. The specific files that are missing are listed in the documentation file GTS-ship-buoy-missing-files.txt.
