ArcticRIMS: Snow Water Equivalent , Aggregated by Administrative Regions

Project:

Summary

This data includes daily Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) values for July 1999 to June 2001, representing the most complete possible "picture" of SWE for the Arctic basin, derived from available Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I) data during this period. Data were filtered with snow climatologies derived from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weekly snow charts from 1996 to 2001 (the most complete record available), and are masked for pixels in the recently updated Arctic drainage basin that Rapid Integrated Monitoring System (RIMS) has released.

The data is presented in 24 sub-datasets of different spatial and temporal aggregations.
