R/V Discoverer Ozonesonde Measurements https://data.eol.ucar.edu/dataset/11.19 Summary This dataset contains ozonesonde profile measurements collected aboard the NOAA R/V Discoverer by James Johnson (NOAA/PMEL) and Sam Oltmans (NOAA/CMDL) during the ACE-1 cruise. Sixteen releases were made using EN-SCI electrochemical concentration cell ozonesondes which typically reached altitudes of 32 to 37 km. The data contains time in minutes following release, pressure (mb), altitude (km), potential temperature (K), ambient temperature (C), dew point temperature (C), relative humidity (%), ozone partial pressure (mPa), ozone mixing ratio (PPM), day of year (UTC), and latitude/longitude. In addition, the "readme" file contains summary information for each release including times/locations, integrated column ozone, estimate of column ozone above the profile, and total column ozone. The raw data were processed and interpolated onto 250 m altitude increments. Some data points were removed when affected by ship pollution and replaced (interpolated) using a straight line fit. These data are considered PRELIMINARY as further corrections may be applied in the future.
