These data are available to be used subject to the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research ("UCAR") terms and conditions.
This dataset consists of high volume (1.15 m3min-1) impactor measurements of size distributed aerosol ions taken at Cape Grim by H. Sievering and students (University of Colorado-Denver) during ACE-1. The equivalent height of sampling was 120-130 m above sea level. The data set contains coarse sea salt aerosol data in four size cuts (0.9-2.3, 2.3-4.5, 4.5-8, and >8 microns ambient diameter), a fine size cut (0.4-0.9 microns ambient dia.) of mixed sea salt and accumulation mode aerosols, and a very fine size cut (<0.4 microns ambient dia.) of predominantly accumulation mode aerosols. Calculated non-sea-salt SO4(nssSO4) is also presented. All ion data are in units nmol m-3. This dataset was processed and quality controlled following ACE-1. An update of this dataset regarding size cuts may be provided in the future.
