Single Particle Soot Photometer (SP2) https://data.eol.ucar.edu/dataset/112.020 Summary The Single Particle Soot Photometer (SP2) is an instrument that directly measures the refractory black carbon (rBC) content in individual accumulation-mode aerosol particles and can identify iron-oxide-like aerosol composition and concentration (here refered to as light absorbing metallic (LAM) aerosol). For the first HIPPO circuit (HIPPO-1), the dataset contains only SP2 rBC data measured aboard the NSF/NCAR GV . The data are in NASA AMES format. The update adds these products to the files. The format of the files has been updated to reflect this, and file names harmonized between HIPPO campaigns.
