These data are available to be used subject to the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research ("UCAR") terms and conditions.
Since 21 Jan 2002, NCEP/CPC has been producing a daily (12Z-12Z) 1/8-degree precipitation analysis using the PRISM/least-squares scheme "inverse distance with PRISM climatology" (John Schaake, NWS/OHD), based on the 7,000-8,000 daily gauges. Beginning Oct 2006, it is being converted into GRIB1 format at EMC operationally and is available via the UCAR codiac system.
