SGP99: NOAA Wind and RASS Profiler Network Hourly Profiles

Summary

The SGP99 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Radio Acoustic Sounding System (RASS) and 405 MHZ Wind Profiler Network Dataset consists of merged hourly wind and virtual temperature profiles from ten NOAA Profiler Network (NPN) sites. The profiles contain total wind speed, wind direction, U and V wind components, altitude, and whenever a RASS profile was available, virtual temperature. No additional quality control was performed. When attempting to preview a profile, use altitude and either wind direction or speed since pressure is always missing and virtual temperature is currently not available for browsing. Please see the README for more details.
