STAR Sea Ice Charts

Summary

This dataset contains Daily Ice Analysis Charts, Weekly, and Monthly Regional Ice Charts for David Strait and Hudson Strait. Ice analysis charts are produced in accordance with Canadian Coast Guard requirements. They are operational charts and are only amended or corrected up to 6 pm on the day of issue. After that, no further quality control is done on the chart. These are available in Graphics Interchange Format. The Canadian Ice Service produces ice charts on a weekly basis on a regional scale for Canadian coastal waters. These are provided in Graphics Interchange Format and E00 format. The ArcInfo E00 file can be imported in a geographic information system software (e.g. ArcGIS). Each coverage contains all of the information contained within the 'egg code' which has been split into individual fields for each egg attribute.
Sea-ice analysis charts were downloaded from http://ice-glaces.ec.gc.ca/ , daily during the STAR period. Additional information on these charts can be found at: https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/ice-forecasts-observations/latest-conditions/archive-overview/information-about-data.html.
