NIDS KUDX Hourly Precipitation (PRE1) Data Set https://data.eol.ucar.edu/dataset/35.012 Summary This data set contains the Nexrad Information Dissemination Service (NIDS) Hourly Precipitation Data Set. This data set is the 1-hour surface rainfall accumulation running total product and is generated when ever precipitation echoes are detected. It covers a range of 230 km with a resolution of 1.1 by 1.1 nmi. It is updated once every volume scan (typically every 5-10 min) and includes 16 data levels. Data are available for most periods during the UMRBPP (5 April to 5 May 1999). Data are available from the Rapid City, SD (KUDX) radar site. These data are in the original NIDS format. These data were not quality quality controlled by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research/Joint Office for Science Support (UCAR/JOSS). This data set is quite large both in terms of size (40 Mb) and in terms of number of files (4500). Please take this into consideration when placing your data order.
