PArticle Size, Image, and Velocity (PASIV) Imagery https://data.eol.ucar.edu/dataset/622.010 Summary This document describes data collected for the Lake Effect Electrification (LEE) experiment that took place in the winter of 2022/2023 around the Oswego, NY area using the National Severe Storms Laboratory PArticle Size, Image, and Velocity (PASIV) microphysics probe. This balloon borne instrument is specifically designed to capture high resolution images of in situ particle data in cloud through the use of a high resolution machine vision camera. The PASIV was flown for LEE on 2 occasions, with a third ground deployment also available. The PASIV was operated by NSSL, the University of Oklahoma/CIWRO, and SUNY Oswego. The archive here contains PASIV data for two IOPs: IOP5 and IOP10, which took place on December 18th, 2022 and February 1st, 2023 respectively. The lat/lon/alt points of the data are included in the Imagery (PNG) file names of the files where available. Data are orderable in tar files containing the Imagery (PNG) files. Each tar file contains approximately 10K imagery files progressing in time throughout each IOP where the lower file name numbers indicate earlier times in the IOP. This archive is considered Preliminary at this time due to more in depth processing that is required as will be expanded upon shortly. This is a large dataset, please only order the data needed.
