ATLAS-82: Atmospheric Tunable Laser Absorption Spectroscopy - 1982

Summary

The Atmospheric Tunable Laser Absorption Spectroscopy - 1982 (ATLAS-82) experiment served as a re-test to a prior project, which also tested the usefulness of tunable laser absorption spectroscopy for measuring atmospheric trace gases. A tunable infrared diode laser and a small White absorption cell were installed on the Sabreliner, Model 60, to measure Carbon Monoxide (CO) vertical profiles from surface to 41,000ft, as well as the concentration of CO in the vicinity of localized sources such as cities.
