RESULTS AND PLOT README FILES COMBINED ###################################################################### # Eddy covariance flux calculation; MANITOU experiment 2015 # by: Alexander Moravek, Dept. of Chemistry, University of Toronto # date of last version: 26 Nov 2015 ###################################################################### --------- Details --------- # Turbulent exchange fluxes of (1) momentum, (2) sensible heat flux, (3) latent heat and the CO2 were calculated using the TK3 flux calculation tool (Mauder and Foken, 2011). # Time period: -> 19.07.2015 20:30 - 20.08.2015 09:00 # Used site specific parameters: -> measurement height: 26m -> canopy height: 16m -> height above sea level: 2600m # Applied corrections and quality control: -> an overview is presented in Foken et al. (2012) -> table 4.8 on p. 122/123. -> chosen coordinate rotation method: double rotation # Output file: -> important parameters: ----> col. "AH": CO2 flux (in mmol/m2/s) ----> col. "AK": u* (in m/s) ----> col. "AL": sensible heat flux (in W/m2) ----> col. "AN": latent heat flux (in W/m2) ----> col. "AO": stability parameter z/L ----> col. "AQ"-"AU": quality control flags ----> col. "BB"-"BE": random flux errors -> invalid data points are represented as -9999.9 -> data quality flags are computed as proposed by Foken et al. (2004): ----> classes 1–3: used for fundamental research, such as the development of parameterizations ----> classes 4-6: are used for general use such as for continuously running systems ----> classes 7-9: should be excluded --------- References --------- (1) Mauder, M., and T. During the evalution period, data with classes 7-9 are displayed as a marker "x". -> flux error bars denote the random flux error (representing the random error due to the stochastic nature of turbulence, see Mauder et al. (2013) for implementation). In nearly all cases the flux error associate with instrument noise was < 1%. # Reason for longer gaps in time series: -> due to power falure -> Li7500 for CO2/H2O measurements had a communication issue, that occured at a few times. --------- References --------- (1) Foken T, Göckede M, Mauder M, Mahrt L, Amiro BD, Munger JW (2004) Post-field data quality control.
