SITE NAME: Ivotuk, Alaska

SITE LATITUDE/LONGITUDE: 68 deg 28.59 min North; 155 deg 44.92 min West
SITE ELEVATION (mean elevation above sea level, meters): 570 meters
SITE SLOPE AND ASPECT: 1km by 1km grid. Site is predominantly east and south aspect. There is a bit of north aspect
GEOMORPHOLOGICAL (landform) DESCRIPTION OF AREA CONTAINING SITE:
Grid site is west of Otuk creek therefore draining into Otuk creek. Ivotuk
is on the north side of the Brooks range. Area topography is shallow.
SOIL DESCRIPTION (predominant texture, i.e., sand, gravel, peat, etc.): Peat, clay, some areas of gravel.
PERMANENT TEMPERATURE AND/OR MOISTURE INSTALLATIONS (probes, recorders, sensors, etc.); INCLUDE ANNUAL AVERAGE VALUES/RANGES WHEN POSSIBLE: Air temp, soil moisture and soil temperature along with other meteorological sensors.
CLOSEST CLIMATE STATION (name, lat./long.); INCLUDE MONTHLY AIR TEMP. AND SNOW DEPTH FOR YEARS OF CALM MEASUREMENTS: Met Site 1 (10 meter tower) and Met Site 2 (3 meter tower).
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: This is a 1km by 1km grid marked at the perimeter and within the perimeter every 100 meters. We walked it along the north south aspect taking depths approximately every 25 meters.
