Copying the CD to Your Hard Drive Copy the contents of the CD to your hard drive if you plan to refer to it often, or you prefer the faster access times. You will avoid having to put the CD into your CD-ROM drive every time you want to check something, and you will not have to wait for the CD-ROM drive to access the files. This is especially pertinent with image and spreadsheet files, and slower CD-ROM drives. You will need about 600Mb of space available on your hard drive to copy the Ivotuk CD. Create a directory, name it whatever you like, and copy the complete contents of the CD to it, retaining the same directory and file structure as on the CD. In the directory you copied the files to, click on quick_start.htm to open the Introduction page, or create a shortcut to the quick_start.htm file for easier access. |
