thermistors in sea ice at 5 different levels |
Radiation and wind direction were measured every 12 seconds. Two-minute averages were stored in a data logger. Humidity and temperature were sampled once every two minutes. Describe verification/validation procedures used with this data set. Tower temperature and relative humidity have been intercalibrated at the Koninklijk Nederlands Meteorologisch Instituut (KNMI). The relative error between the five temperature sensors was found to be less then 0.1 Celsius. Tower wind velocity were calibrated in the KNMI wind tunnel. The five sensors were found to be accurate within 0.2 m/s.
