1.0  DATA SET OVERVIEW


This data set contains Level III radar data from the WSR-88D radar located 
at Andersen Air Force Base on Guam.  The data cover the period from 1 August
to 6 October 2008.  The complete suite of Level III products are included (see
the readme for details.

2.2  File Naming conventions

7000PGUA20080801.tar.Z

PGUA is the station id
2008 is the four digit year
08 is the two digit month
01 is the two digit day (UTC)

.tar.Z signifies that these are compressed tar files.

Once the tar files are opened there are files named like:
PGUM_NXUS60_GSMGUA_200808010003

PGUM is the station id
NXUS60 is the GTS product identifier
GSM is the radar product identifier
GUA is the station id
2008 is the year
08 is the month
01 is the day
0003 are the UTC hour and minute of the observation
