Dataset Overview:
The University of Wisconsin Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) made available the full resolution METEOSAT-9 imager data to the PREDICT investigators. NCAR/EOL collected and archived these data for access after the campaign. During PREDICT, METEOSAT-9 (a Meteosat Second Generation Satellite) was the operational Prime satellite, stationed at 0W. These data are in AREA file format and consist of 1km vis channel data files and 3km 12-channel data (including subsampled vis). Individual files exist for each of the original sector scans during the period 15 August - 30 September 2010. All files are gzip'ed to minimize size and download time. Dataset format:
These data are in McIDAS AREA file format. The suggested software to use for viewing/working with these data is McIDAS. Please see http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/mcidas/software/about_mcidas.html for more information.
