"These files contain all the ultraviolet albedo data obtained by our group at SHEBA during the spring, summer, and fall of 1998",

Data were obtained using the SE590 spectrophotometer and the UV head with the integrating sphere cosine collector.,
The useful wavelength range was 314-400 nm with a sampling density of 1/nm and a spectral resolution of about 4 nm,
The accuracy of the albedos is approximately +- 0.2 except at the shortest wavelengths where the incident radiation is lowest.,

"Except where noted otherwise, all observations were carried out between 13:00 and 16:00 ship's time around the time of local solar noon.",
"In contrast to the Visible and Infrared Observations, the UV measurements were made only at selected sites representing the range of surface types",
,rather than covering the entire albedo line

A short glossary of terms used is as follows:,
MP = Melt Pond,
WI = Drained White Ice or Hummock,
BI = Blue ice - bare ice with no surface granular or bubbly layer,
M # = Observation at meter # on the albedo line

FY = First year ice
MY = Multiyear ice
