GCIP/ESOP-97 Rosemount, MN Snow Cover Data Set 1.0 General Information This data set was provided to UCAR/JOSS by Dr. John Baker Soil Scientist at the USDA/ARS and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Soil, Water, and Climate at the University of Minnesota. The bottom of the sensor was 2180 mm (average of days 285 to 325 of 1996 when no snow was on the ground) above the ground. To derive snow cover depth, take the difference between the distance from the sensor to the ground surface (2180 mm) and the reported distance from the sensor to the snow surface. 5.0 Data Seet Information Field data measured at Rosemount, MN for the period 11 October 1996 (Julian day 285) to 1 April 1997 (Julian day 91) can be found in the following comma delineated files: 1.
