GCIP/ESOP-97 Rosemount, MN Soil Temperature Data Set 1.0 General Information This data set was provided to UCAR/JOSS by Dr. John Baker Soil Scientist at the USDA/ARS and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Soil, Water, and Climate at the University of Minnesota. For further information on these data please contact him via e-mail at jbaker@soils.umn.edu or phone at (612) 625-4249. 2.0 Quality Control Information These data were quality assured and quality controlled at the University of Minnesota, UCAR/JOSS has not changed these data in any way, and has conducted no quality control on this data set. 3.0 Site Location The Rosemount field site is located at: Latitude Longitude Elevation (msl) ----------- ----------- ----------------- 44 42' 51.50" N 93 5' 23.66" W 293.57 m 4.0 Instrumentation The soil temperature instrumentation used at this site are YSI thermistors that each have their own calibrations that are determined in the lab. Note that for a period data were not available from the main site due to field operations. For this period data have been included (in a separate file) from a nearby soil temperature measurement site that is located about 3 m away. The instrumentation is different at this site. This site used Campbell 107 temperature probes (thermistor).
