DOTSTAR ASTRA Flight Level Data [NTU]

1. General Description


This data set includes the DOTSTAR Astra Jet flight level data from six flights 
that occurred during ITOP_2010.  The DOTSTAR aircraft was based out of Taiwan
and flew the environment of tropical systems in the Western Pacific Ocean from
August-October 2010.  Data are included from Typhoon Kompasu (31 August),
Typhoon Lionrock (31 August-1 September), Typhoon Fanapi (15-16, 16-17, and 
17-18 September) and Super Typhoon Megi (16-17 October).  The data files are
in a comma-delimited ASCII format with observations every few seconds.
NCAR/EOL have conducted no quality control on these data files.


2. File Naming Convention

yyyy-mm-dd_hhnnss_start.pth

where yyy is the year
      mm is the month
      dd is the day of month
      hh is the hour
      nn is the minutes
      ss is the seconds


3. Format Description

The format is described in the  readme_dotstar_flight_data.pdf file included
in your data order.
