GTS Rawinsonde Observations 
---------------------------

   3 datasets were collected during INDOEX that relate to the global network
of regular sounding systems. These datasets are 1) Mandatory and significant
level data, 2) Sounding Skew-T Plots, and 3) Constant Pressure plots.

This data was collected at JOSS and may not contain data which was
removed from the US GTS feed. In addition the reliability of reporting
by each station is quite variable. 

Mandatory and Significant Level Data
------------------------------------
   During the INDOEX project, sounding data was collected from the global
network of regular reporting stations. These data are saved in daily files 
in GEMPAK format. This data represents mandatory and significant levels only.

Sounding Skew-T Plots
---------------------
   An attempt was made to produce Skew-T GIF images for many of the sounding 
sites in the Indoex Region. This met with mixed success as many sites
had poor reliability, i.e. Columbo, Sri Lanka, whose data we rarely received. 

Constant Pressure Plots
-----------------------
   From the mandatory and significant level data received here at JOSS, 
constant pressure plots were made at 850, 700, 500, and 200 mb levels. These 
plots were produced twice daily during the INDOEX project. These plots are in
GIF format.
