Microwave/Infrared Satellite-Derived 9km Sea Surface Temperature Data 1.0 General Description This data set contains daily 9km Sea Surface Temperature data derived from microwave (AMSR-E, TMI, WindSAT) and infrared (MODIS) satellite observations over the globe. The data are in NetCDF format. These data were provided by Remote Sensing Systems (REMSS). 2.0 Data Format Description These data are in NetCDF format. For more information on NetCDF: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/ There is one file for each day. 3.0 File Naming Convention The data files are named as follows: yyyymmdd-remss-l4lrfnd-glob-v01-fv03-tmi_amsre_oi.nc.gz where yyyy is the year mm is the month dd is the day of month 4.0 Notes These data are part of the Multi-sensor Improved Sea Surface Temperature for GODAE (MISST) project led by REMSS, NESDIS and NRL. Additional information about these data is available at the MISST web site: http://www.misst.org/ The REMSS web site also has some information: http://www.remss.com/sst/microwave_oi_sst_browse.html 5.0 Terms of Data Use from REMSS The following is from the REMSS web site (http://www.remss.com/terms_of_data_use/terms_of_data_use.html).
