ASOS 1-Minute Data


This dataset contains the 1-minute resolution data from the entire ASOS network including 
those in the 50 US states and a few international locations at military bases.  The data set
is in page 1 and page 2 ASOS data files.  The page 1 data are in data set DSI 6405 and page 2 
data are in data set DSI 6406.

DSI 6405 files (page one data): Each data file contains data for one station-month.
The files names for the page one data begin with 64050 (for data set name), followed 
by the 4 character call letter identifier (e.g. KNYC = New York Central Park, NY), 
the 4 digit year and two digit month. The file extensions are ".dat".
The format documentation is td6450.pdf included with your order.

Also included with your order are the ASOS Ready Reference Guide and Users Guide
which provide information on ASOS sensors and data processing methods.  Finally,
the file ASOS-STATIONS.TXT contains the station location metadata.  These station
locations are from the NOAA Multi-Network Metadata System.

This data set was supplied by NOAA/NCDC.  NCAR/EOL has conducted no processing or
quality control on these data and they are provided as is.
