The tower was located 15 m to the East of the Main Tower. The sonic anemometers were sampled at 20Hz, the triple-hot-film and single single- cold-film anemometers were sampled at 200Hz. The sheaths were sampled at 1Hz. Time series data collected is as follows (raw data = approx. 1.1 Gbyte/day): 01 October to 31 October 1999, 5.0 m - [ 20 Hz ] - Cambell Scientific (CSAT3) sonic anemometer. [ 200 Hz ] - TSI (model 1294-20) triple-hot-film anemometer. [ 200 Hz ] - TSI (model 1210) single-cold-film anemometer used as a temperature sensor. [ 1 Hz ] - Pneumatic sheath system for hot-film anemometer. 01 October to 19 October 1999, (this level moved to 0.5m for the rest of the experiment) 1.5 m - [ 20 Hz ] - Cambell Scientific (CSAT3) sonic anemometer. [ 200 Hz ] - TSI (model 1294-20) triple-hot-film anemometer. [ 200 Hz ] - TSI (model 1210) single-cold-film anemometer used as a temperature sensor. [ 1 Hz ] - Pneumatic sheath system for hot-film anemometer. 20 October to 31 October 1999, 0.5 m - [ 20 Hz ] - Cambell Scientific (CSAT3) sonic anemometer. [ 200 Hz ] - TSI (model 1294-20) triple-hot-film anemometer. [ 200 Hz ] - TSI (model 1210) single-cold-film anemometers used as a temperature sensor. [ 1 Hz ] - Pneumatic sheath system for hot-film anemometer. ## ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- # 3) Complete description of any derived parameters contained in the dataset. # ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Triple-hot-film wind component data and single-cold-film temperature data were alculated using the methods described in Skelly, B.T., D.R. Miller, and T.H. Meyer, 2002: ,Triple-Hot-Film Anemometer Performance In CASES-99 And A Comparison To Sonic Anemometer Measurements', Bound.-Lay. Meteorol., (expected in Oct/Nov 2002). All CSAT3, Hot-film, and cold-film data on the 5.5 m tower have 5.0 m and 1.5 m data from 1 October 1999 through 19 October 1999, and 5.0 m and 0.5 m data from 20 October 1999 through 29 October 1999. See the QCNOTES text file and GoodTimesList.xls which contain lists of known problems within the dataset, and time periods in which wind approached the triple-hot-film probes from acceptable angles. ## ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- # The file naming convention is as follows: # ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- All times are Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).
