readme.lidar       Readme file for Doppler Wind Liodar         (D.Phillips)

Lidar files are located in the /data directory and orgainzed by date 

There are 3 data types for the Lidar

1. Vertical Stare (Stare_58_YYYYMMDD_HH.hpl)
2. RHI (RHI_58_YYYYMMDD_HHMNSS.hpl)
3. Wind Profile (Processed_Wind_Profile_58_YYYYMMDD_HHMNSS.hpl)

YYYY -> year
MM   -> month
DD   -> day
HH   -> hour
MN   -> minute
SS   -> second

For lidar data format please refer to the document "LidarData.pdf"

From the manual (attached) the example of an .hpl file is on page 26. 
"Data line 1:" and Data line 2:" explains what each field of the rest of lines contains.

Before you use any of this data, please contact us for recent updates and
possible corrections to the data sets.
