Title: Horizontal wind measurements (2-min resolution) from Doppler lidar in the CLAMPS (MP-1) Author: Dave Turner, NOAA (dave.turner@noaa.gov) Date: 20 June 2016 The Doppler lidar in the CLAMPS facility makes an 8-point VAD every 2 minutes, with 1-s vertical wind obserations in between. These data are the horizontal wind measurments that were derived using the velocity-azimuth-display (VAD) technique applied to the PPI scans. The PPI scans were made at a 70-degree elevation relative to the horizon. See the file README.clamps_deployments.txt for information on the location of the CLAMPS facility for each IOP, as well as other metadata.
