Title: Brightness tempeatures and PWV/LWP retrievals from the MWR in the CLAMPS facility (MP-1) Author: Dave Turner, NOAA (dave.turner@noaa.gov) Date: 20 June 2016 The MWR in the CLAMPS facility makes downwelling microwave radiance measurements at 14 frequencies at high temporal resolution. These data were primarily collected in the zenith direction, with periodic near-horizon to near-horizon scans. From the zenith data, statistical retrievals of precipitable water vapor (PWV) and liquid water path (LWP) were performed, using the coefficients in Turner et al. IEEE Trans Geosci Remote Sensing 2007. The surface meteorology data collected by the CLAMPS system is part of this datastream. Note that the met station was located about 1 m above the top of the CLAMPS trailer, and thus it is possible that the trailer affected the observations somewhat. Also, the orientation of the trailer has not been accounted for in the wind directions; please see the other README file for details on the trailer orientation. See the file README.clamps_deployments.txt for information on the location of the CLAMPS facility for each IOP, as well as other metadata.
