This file contains meta-data for photo/file <1971-01 Webber IBP Plot Plot Data 1971 Niwot Ridge.txt>. Contains 1971 data collected on species and land cover and abundance from Webber and Ebert-May's former IBP plots on Niwot Ridge, Colorado. GENERAL INFORMATION PI/DATA CONTACT= Webber, Patrick J (MSU)/ Tweedie, Craig E FUNDING SOURCE AWARD # = NSF OPP 9906692 DATA COVERAGE = START: 19710101; STOP: 20010831 UTC PLATFORM/SITE = Niwot Ridge, Colorado (40o3'N 105o36'W); INSTRUMENT = None DATA VERSION = 1.0 (25 January 2002) CONTACT INFORMATION Craig E. For each sub-plot, the presence of all land cover types and all vascular species were recorded. In 10cm by 1m strips along each sub-plot, the cover of all land cover and plant types listed above was estimated. Some species were lumped if investigators were unsure of their taxonomy e.g. Draba spp. The following text has been used to standardize nomenclature between 1971 sampling of these plots and sampling in 2001. Weber, W.A. 1976. Rocky Mountain Flora. Colorado Associated University Press. Boulder, Colorado. META-DATA FORMAT The following prefixes have been used to designate data type. str - indicates string (text) data dtm - indicates date time data num - indicates numeric data mem - indicates memo data FIELD DESCRIPTIONS for <1971 Webber IBP Plot Data 1971 Niwot Ridge.txt> strPlotId - Plot identification number strSubPlot - Sub-plot number. strSpp - Species/land cover code strStatus - Status of species/land cover L=Live, G=Ground, O=Other numCover - Cover in a 10cm x 1m strip in sub-plot numPresence - Indicates where species/land cover type is present in sub-plot. memComments - Lists additional comments for record entry. AutNumber - Unique record number. NOTE All plot data has been collected By Dian Ebert-May. Craig Tweedie has performed all data entry and data management. Plots are labeled 1-30 for 1971 sampling, 31-60 for 1991 sampling and 61-90 for 2001 sampling ie plots 1, 31 and 61 are the same plot sampled in 1971, 1991 and 2001.
