[General Dataset Description]
The sounding data collected by Valporaiso University and processed by NCAR provides upper air information meant to supplement that provided by standard NWS soundings. These supplemental soundings were launched at the request of ICICLE forecasters on days where flights over/near/downstream of Valpo were being considered. The sounding data files include typical atmospheric state parameters (pressure, temperature, dewpoint temperature, wind speed and direction) as well as 3D coordinate data (altitude, latitude and longitude) at secondly intervals from sounding launch to termination.
