Title: Satellite Imagery from HLY-02-03 Cruise Collected by: Steve Roberts UCAR/JOSS Data Contact: Greg Stossmeister P.O. Imagery was produced and loaded into the SBI HLY-02-03 Field Catalog as the overpasses occurred. (See http://www.joss.ucar.edu/sbi for field catalog links) Imagery was produced in 2 different resolutions, one showing a large scale view of an area about 1800 km x 2400 km, and the other a more zoomed in view of an 800 x 800 km area, both centered on the current ship position. In addition, images were produced of the OLS visible channel at full resolution (0.5 km) over a 400x400 km area. OLS Imagery was plotted for the DMSP spacecraft f-12, f-13, f-14 and f-15. High resolution imagery (800x800 km sector) was produced for the visible channel only of OLS. Lower resolution images (1800x2400) were produced in both visible and infrared. AHVRR Imagery was produced for NOAA-12, 14, 15, 16, and 17, channels 1 (vis), 2, and 5. All 3 channels were plotted in both low and high resolution. DATA REMARKS: DMSP Imagery frequently suffered from significant navigational errors. This was largely due to old ephemeris data aboard ship. Limited internet access and software problems contributed to delays in orbital element updates. DATA FORMAT: Data are in .jpg or .gif image formats.
