DATA SET OVERVIEW:
Dissolved Organic Carbon and Nitrogen as well as dissolved
amino acids and dissolved amino sugars. Reported DON values
were calculated by subtracting inorganic nitrogen species
(NO3+NO2+NH4) from TDN.  Reported values of dissolved amino
acids are summed concentrations of 18 individually measured
amino acids.  Reported values of dissolved amino sugars are
summed concentrations of 3 individually measured amino
sugars.  Concentrations of individual amino acids and sugars
will be made available upon request.
-Hly0201 data are for spring cruise 2002
-Hly0203 data are for summer cruise 2002

INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION:
DOC/TN - Shimadzu TOCV-CSN
Amino acids - Agilent High Performance Liquid Chromatography
(HPLC) system with a Licrosphere RP18 (end capped) 4 x 250
mm column with 5 †m particles
Amino sugars - Dionex 500 ion chromatography system equipped
with a CarboPac PALO 20 column and pulsed amperometric
detector


DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING:
Water samples were collected by CTD.  All samples from <
300m depth were GFF filtered.  All samples were frozen until
analysis in the home laboratory

DATA FORMAT
Data are presented as an Excel Workbook.  The first page
contains all data from cruise hly0201, the second sheet
contains all data from hly0203
