DATA SET OVERVIEW:

This data set represents measurements of POC and PN for water column suspended particles 
collected during the 2002 HLY-02-03 Process Cruise.  Particulates were collected by filtration onto 
pre-combusted (450¡C for 4hrs) 25mm Whatman GF/F filters.  The filters were stored frozen until 
analysis.  Filters were dried at 40C for 24 hours, then carbonates were removed by vapor phase 
acidification with HCl.  Samples were analyzed at the Nutrient Analytical Services Laboratory at the 
Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, Solomons, 
Maryland, using an Exeter Analytical, Inc., CE-440 Elemental Analyzer.

This data set consists of an excel workbook with one spreadsheets.  The worksheet contains the 
number and name of the station, latitude, longitude, water depth of sample, POC (ug/L), PN (ug/L), and 
POC:PN based on elemental ratios.  Comments for the data are located in the header.  Stations are 
highlighted with alternate gray and white for ease of viewing.
