DYCOMS-II Satellite: GOES-10 Sounder Data (TDF) 1.0 General Information The GOES-10 Sounder Data (TDF) is one of several satellite data sets collected as part of the Dynamics and Chemistry of Marine Stratocumulus Phase II: Entrainment Studies (DYCOMS-II) project by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research/Joint Office for Science Support (UCAR/JOSS). UCAR/JOSS utilized its SeaSpace system to retrieve data from the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite 10 (GOES-10) sounder instrument. The products cover the period from 26 June to 30 July 2001. The data cover the entire pass of the sounder. The data are typically available every hour. All data are in tdf format. 2.0 Data Contact Scot Loehrer (loehrer@ucar.edu) 3.0 Product Information UCAR/JOSS utilized its SeaSpace system to retrieve sounder data from the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite 10 (GOES-10). All data are in tdf format which is proprietary. A SeaSpace system will be needed to utilize these data. 4.0 Quality Control Procedures UCAR/JOSS conducted no quality checks on these data. 5.0 File Naming Convention The file names are structured as follows: g10.yyyyddd.hhmm Where g10 is the satellite used (GOES-10) yyyy is the four digit year ddd is the Julian day hh is the hour (UTC) mm is the minute 6.0 References None.
