DOE ARM SGP Radiosonde Data 
     
     
1.0  General Description
     

This data set contains 2-second vertical resolution radiosonde data from
the Department of Energy (DOE) Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) 
Southern Great Plains (SGP) site.  Radiosondes are released at the ARM
Central Facility every 6 hours (00, 06, 12, and 18 UTC).  The ARM SGP
Boundary Facilities only release radiosondes during special Intensive
Observing Period.  These stations are located in southern Kansas and 
northern Oklahoma.  This data set covers the period from 1 July 2001 
through present.  The data are in netCDF format.

The file names have the following format:

where:
        sgpsondewnpn is the data type (radiosonde)
        C1 represents the facility id (here ARM SGP central facility)
        b1 represents the data level
        2002 - four digit year
        01 - two digit month
        28 - two digit day
        05 - two digit hour
        32 - two digit minute
        00 - two digit second
        cdf - netCDF format extention
