MEXICO (52) 555-622-4053 (52) 555-622-4248 (fax) darrel@servidor.unam.mx 2.0 Dataset Description: This dataset consists of UNAM aerosol measurement system data taken aboard the NCAR C-130 during the EPIC field project. The data includes C-130 flights 5-17, which occur between September 13 and October 6, 2002. 2.1 Data Format: The data are in columns with the names ordered as below: ihr imn isc tsecs HGME232 GLAT GLON ccn02 ccn04 ccn06 ccn08 ccn10 coeffabs coeffsct The UTC time is given in both hours, minutes and seconds (ihr imn isc) and seconds since midnight (tsecs). The time reported is that which the UNAM data system recorded from the aircraft system, so the data are synchronized. A number of aircraft variables are also listing with the UNAM data, i.e. aircraft altitude and horizontal position given by the radar altimeter, HGME232, and GPS latitude and longitude, GLAT and GLON, respectively. The CCN concentrations, in cm-3 at supersaturations of .2%, .4%, .6%, .8% and 1% are given in the columns marked by ccn02 - ccn10. The absorption and scattering coefficients, in units of m-1 are given by coeffabs and coeffct, respectively. 3.0 Quality Control: No additional quality control was performed on this dataset by UCAR/JOSS. 4.0 Remarks For additional information regarding the interpolation applied to the CNN data, please contact Darrel Baumgardner.
