This MONGOLIA CD contains several folders and subfolders.  In addition to the 
folder for the station at Tsagaan Delger, there are folders labeled 
Data Summaries, Soils, Photos, Instruments, and Misc.  These five 
folders contain information relating to Mongolia in general.  QuattroPro 
and Excel files summarizing the data on monthly and annual bases can be 
found in the Data Summaries folder.  Also in this folder are MSWord 
documents summarizing station data.  Some general photos of the area 
are also located in the Photos folder.  Sensor calibration results may be 
found in the Instruments folder.

This CD includes the following folders for the Tsagaan Delger station: Archived Raw Data, 
Data (Excel), Data (QuattroPro), Graphs, and Metadata.  The data contained in the 
Data folders are identical except for format.  The two data formats used in this CD 
are Excel and QuattroPro.  The processed data, in both QuattroPro and Excel folders, 
are organized by year.  Each file is for a separate year, identified by the name of 
the station and the last two digits of the year.  The first page of the file for a 
particular year contains the data as retrieved from the datalogger with the addition 
of two columns: time and date.  These columns are added strictly for the convenience 
of the user.  The time column increases continuously from the inception of the station 
so yearly files can be combined in a graphing program and the data may be plotted vs. time.
The date column is convenient when making monthly averages, etc.  The succeeding pages 
of each yearly file contain processed Vitel sensor soil-moisture data (one page for 
each sensor).  The last page contains monthly averages, medians, standard deviations, 
maximums, and minimums for the data, except for precipitation, which is total and 
maximum hourly.  The last page also contains the data averages, medians, standard deviations, 
maximums, and minimums for the year.  The Graphs folder contains most of the processed 
data for a particular station in a SigmaPlot file along with any graphs created from the 
data.  Selected graphs have also been saved in JPEG format and these are included in this 
folder.

The Metadata folder contains the following subfolders: Datalogger Programs, Instruments, 
Photos, Records, Soils, and Wiring Diagrams.  The Datalogger Programs folder contains the 
latest, i.e. current, datalogger program for the station.  Previous datalogger programs 
are available by request.  The Instruments folder contains information on sensor calibration.  
The Photos folder contains any photos of the station, site, equipment, etc. available.  
The Records folder contains a MSWord file with the station location, instrumentation, 
datalogger output, station history, and other information that may be of interest.  
The Soils folder contains a pedon description of the soil at the site, any soil 
characterization laboratory results, and any other soils data available.  The 
Wiring Diagrams folder contains the wiring diagrams for the station.

Every effort is made to ensure that the data are accurate, verified, and up-to-date.  
However, there are undoubtedly some errors.  As errors are discovered, they are 
corrected and later CD's will be updated accordingly.  Gathering all of the station 
information is a time consuming task and all of the information available has not been 
included in these CD's, pending sorting and verification.  Later CD's will contain
