TITLE: Mesonet Texas North Plains Evapotranspiration Network Data [JOSS] CONTACTS: For more information on the Texas North Plains ET Network contact: Thomas Marek (t-marek@tamu.edu) or Leon New (l-new@tamu.edu) 1.0 DATA SET OVERVIEW This data set contains hourly resolution surface meteorological data from the Texas North Plains Potential Evapotranspiration (ET) Network. This network includes 15 stations in the Texas panhandle region. This data set covers the period from 18 May to 1 August 2003. These data are in columnar ASCII format. 2.0 INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION 2.1 Instrumentation The stations are Campbell Scientific Inc WW2000 or MetData1 systems reduced to 2 meter towers or at least mimic them with the same instruments. Heights are 1.8 to 2 m above ground level for all data. 2.2 Station Locations Station ID Longitude Latitude Elev (m) ---------------------------------------------------------------- CHILLICOTHE, TX chi 99 deg 31 min 34 deg 12 min 450 DALHART, TX dal 102 deg 32 min 36 deg 20 min 1223 DIMMITT, TX dim 102 deg 30 min 34 deg 40 min 1205 EARTH, TX ear 102 deg 25 min 34 deg 14 min 1142 ETTER, TX ett 102 deg 0 min 36 deg 0 min 1103 FARWELL, TX far 103 deg 2 min 34 deg 26 min 1240 HALFWAY, TX hal 101 deg 56 min 34 deg 11 min 1088 BUSHLAND (JBF), TX jbf 102 deg 4 min 35 deg 13 min 1162 LAMESA, TX lam 101 deg 56 min 32 deg 47 min 927 LUBBOCK, TX lub 101 deg 49 min 33 deg 41 min 998 MORSE, TX mor 101 deg 33 min 35 deg 59 min 1006 MUNDAY, TX mun 99 deg 34 min 33 deg 27 min 450 PERRYTON, TX per 100 deg 54 min 36 deg 12 min 907 WELLINGTON, TX wel 100 deg 16 min 34 deg 57 min 652 WHITE DEER, TX whi 101 deg 5 min 35 deg 26 min 1012 3.0 DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING UCAR/JOSS conducted no processing or quality control on these data. 4.0 DATA FORMAT AND FILE NAMING 4.1 Data Format These data are in columnar ASCII format.
