This network includes 33 stations around the state of Michigan. This data set covers the period from 15 May to 16 July 2003. These data are in columnar ASCII format. The MAWN is a program associated with The Generating Research and Extension to Meet Economic and Environmental Needs (GREEEN) Initiative, a joint partnership between the state's major commodity groups and food processors, the state government, the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station, and Michigan State University. 2.0 INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION 2.1 Instrumentation Parameter: Air Temperature/Relative Humidity Instrument: Hygrothermometer Manufacturer: Viasala Model: HMP35C or HMP45C Installed: Height: 1.5 m MAWN Stations: HMP35C: hart, saginaw, sparta HMP45C: all others) Parameter: Solar Radiation Instrument: Pyronometer Manufacturer: Li-Cor Model: LI200X-L11 Installed: Height: approx. 3 m, Pyronometer arm faces SW MAWN Stations: All Parameter: Leaf Wetness A Instrument: Leaf Wetness Grid Manufacturer: Campbell Scientific Model: 237-L20 Installed: Height: 1 m MAWN Stations: All Parameter: Leaf Wetnees B Instrument: Leaf Wetness Grid Manufacturer: Campbell Scientific Model: 237-L20 Installed: Site-Specific (if available) - representative canopy MAWN Stations: Not all stations Parameter: Soil Temperature A Instrument: Soil/Water Tempertaure Manufacturer: Cambell Scietific Model: 107-L10 Installed: Depth: 5 cm (under bare soil) MAWN Stations: All Parameter: Soil Temperature B Instrument: Soil/Water Tempertaure Manufacturer: Cambell Scietific Model: 107-L10 Installed: Depth: 10 cm (under bare soil) MAWN Stations: All Parameter: Precipitation (non-frozen) Instrument: Tipping Bucket Precipitation Gauge Manufacturer: Texas Electronics Model: TE525-L20 Installed: Height: 1 m MAWN Stations: All Parameter: Wind Direction/Wind Speed Instrument: Wind Sentry Manufacturer: R.M.
