1.0  DATA SET OVERVIEW
     

This data set contains surface meteorological data from the Ohio
Road Weather Information System (RWIS) operated by the Ohio
Department of Transportation.  The network includes stations along
roads throughout the state of Ohio.  This data set covers the
period from 19 May to 10 July 2003.  The data are in Microsoft Access
format.


2.0  INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION


2.1  Instrumentation

All the Atmospheric instruments are made by Vaisala, Inc. and is mounted 
on a pole 20' in the air. 

2.2  Station Locations
 
Station locations are included in the data files.


3.0  DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING


UCAR/JOSS conducted no processing or quality control on these data.


4.0  DATA FORMAT AND FILE NAMING

These data are in Microsoft Access format

The file Data Dictionary.doc describes the parameters.

The times are EST.

4.2  File Naming conventions

where 
      2003 is the four digit year
      07 is the two digit month
      10 is the two digit day
