These data are available to be used subject to the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research ("UCAR") terms and conditions.
This dataset contains full resolution GOES-13 satellite data collected during the PREDICT project. The University of Wisconsin Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) made available the full resolution GOES-13 imager data to the PREDICT investigators. NCAR/EOL collected and archived these data for access after the campaign. During PREDICT, GOES-13 was the operational GOES-East satellite, stationed at 75W. These data are in AREA file format and consist of 4km 5-channel data (including subsampled vis). Individual files exist for each of the original sector scans during the period 15 August - 30 September 2010, including Routine operations, Rapid Scan Operations (RSO) and Super-rapid Scan Operations (SRSO). All files are gzip'ed to minimize size and download time. Each filename contains the UTC date/time stamp at which the sector was broadcast. Please note that Eclipse/Keep-out zone operations were underway during most of this period affecting imagery normally collected between about 04 - 0630 UTC. For more information on the GOES spacecraft operations, please see: http://www.oso.noaa.gov/goes/index.htm .
